Re: Bimer Bonsai Annual Show 30-31st March 2019
Just a few weeks away from the bimer show.
I just repotted this lepto petersonii into a pot i was given when i did a demo down south. It is an aussie made pot, but don't know the potter's name.
I think it suits it.
I hope to see the brisbane locals there.

I have been removing wire and applying lime sulphur to the dead wood of this club shimpaku that will be the raffle tree for our show this weekend. This was a demo tree from 2 years ago.
I hope to see the brisbane ausbonsai members there.

Re: Bimer Bonsai Annual Show 30-31st March 2019
I had the kids sport on this morning so missed the bulk of the sales
Finally got there in the arvo & the trees were wonderful. The Clero above got runner-up.
My favorite was the black (?) pine over rock in the shallow pot posted above. The whole combination was spot on.

Re: Bimer Bonsai Annual Show 30-31st March 2019
Thanks AG and Bougyfan, excellent to see.
That pine in the flat tray ... yum. And the cassie raft .... I like it with it’s slender trunks but I wish I could see it in the flesh ... the base of the raft looks quite conspicuous and interesting in the composition and I can’t quite make out how the soil seems to be holding in the pot - it looks like it has an inch high vertical fall right at the pot’s edge. Perhaps it’s a trick of the light but I am intrigued.
Also - am I correct in that the shimpaku is a Phoenix graft?
Bonsai teaches me patience.

Yes the juniper is a phoenix graft. Another couple before I head up for day 2
