I met Lindsay at this nursery in Melbourne last year, nice bloke and quite a character. Pretty generous of him to give those movies away like does. His nursery is worth a look too if you find yourself in the area. Big, pricey stuff up the front as you come in, but if you're cheap like me head out the back!

He has been promising a second series for quite some time but since he basically donates his time and money to the cause it's hard to get too upset if he's a little slow.

Hi Guys, I did not know of these videos at all.I guess that's why I love this forum so much. What I would like to know is: I downloaded Episode 1 from Series 1. Am I assuming that what's shown here is a preview/teaser of what you would get if you purchased it?

Hi Jester
Keep searching the site, there are a couple of directories full of videos in addition to the World of Bonsai movies

The DVD's contain some additional material, but the main impact is the graphics of the DVD are movie quality in comparison.

Even though I live in NSW, Lindsay generously donated information, time and assistance from afar to our local club several years ago. He never asked for any commendation or credit.
Some people have their opinion about him which is their choice and whilst I only met him once when I went to Melbourne it was a real pleasure.

An outgoing but contrastingly quiet man.
Do some research on him and you will find that he has a impressive past life - pre Bonsai world.

I think we are lucky that many of the professionals in Australia give more to our art than they receive in return
Regards
Steve

My understanding was that the DVDs were just a better quality version of the movies you can download for free on the site. I asked Lindsay about copying them onto CD for the members of our club who didn't have decent internet connections. He said it was fine so long as I didn't charge any money. That was before he brought out the DVDs though so I'm not sure if that's still his view?

Just as a side note, someone told me that the whole series has been shown on pay TV at some point. No idea if it's true?

I am pretty sure it was just the original series, not the World of Bonsai series that was shown on pay tv about 4 or 5 years ago i think.

I really enjoyed watching the world of bonsai series especially the pottery episodes.
