Bonsai Australia hat pin

Post by Steven »

I recently purchased this hat pin from eBay and was wondering if anyone had any information on the year of manufacture or which club/individual had them produced?

Thanks in advance!

I don't kinow who made it but it would be good to have an AusBonsai one ;) It make it easy to identify other bonsai nuts at shows and exhibits...I'd proudly wear one :D

I'm pretty sure that is a 60's badge from the Bonsai Society of Australia and was designed by the late Bill Pritchard.
Yes Grant, I do have one- just the one but it did send me ratting through my badge collection bringing back lots of great times collecting and thinking about the huge numbers of clubs and people all over the world that are involved now and in the past in the fabulous interest not just badges but Bonsai.
Thanks for making me look them out. Ric

C'mon guys, its not that hard. Just Google Patrick's Badges and give them a ring. They would have on record when the badge was made. They are now in Melbourne and I believe the Sydney factory closed down some years ago.

I reckon it would be great to have an Ausbonsai badge of our own . It would be great when going to exhibitions rather than trying to work out if someone else is a member or not. How about it Steve??? Would it not be a great advertisement for the forum?? It would certainly beat a shirt!!
Cmon guys whattaya say?????????????????

It was earlier more like late 1960's It was thw club badge of the Bonsai Society of Australia. Designed by the late Bill Pritchard and I think produced by Sydney badgemaker Patricks. I don't know if they are still around and ye I do have one in my collection!
Sorry I see I have answered this all before but I seem to be telling the same story -that's good!
