Good choice Kerrin,

For those people who like rules / guidelines the ideal depth for upright trees is considered to be the same as the trunk width. Of course there is room for variation where a sumo style would be shallower and a bunjin would be deeper. We need to bear in mind our harsh climate and the health of the tree.
