Hi bonsaiforest
It depends on your mechanical abilities , you can go as easy as a swivel chair or as full on as the table i made in the post what is it worth in the section on table and stands etc , i also made a few stand for some friends of mine out of steel which I'll take a photo of and post tomorrow .

I have plastic ones under some of my bigger trees, they have been there for 6 years no wear yet water does not affect them and at $10-each can't be bothered.

Had an idea to help with your chocks... How about glueing on some of that non-slip kitchen matting... You can get it from Woolworths or if you want it bigger then get it from Bunnings. Suppose you could even cover each board with it. I'm going to go ahead with your plans... Although will be using my brilliant idea of nonslip matting... Ha ha ... Well hope I can pull it off ... Will post picks once I complete the project.

Yep, got it. Interested to see what you come up with.

I will probably attach something to stop the clocks moving on the edge/ outside.

Hi Bonsaiforest
These are the tables that I've made about 6 or 7 of for friends and I've sold 2 at $150, the ones I sold had ikea chopping boards mounted these cost $30. The board here is a piece of peppercorn that still needs to be planed and finished . I think I'll keep this one. I can stand on it and the legs don't flex and I weigh 84kg can probably take 120kg . The bolt on the side locks the shaft internally

Hi Homer
Yes mate made it myself, took some pipe machined it so bearings would fit , machined a shaft to suit and welded the top plate and legs . the locking bolt is a cap head that i knurled the head and machined a point on the end . then fitted together marked where the bolt touched the shaft inside and dimpled the shaft all round so that it had dimples to bite into . The bottom end of the shaft has a hole drilled through for a split pin
