half hollow logs

Post by morrie »

i got these off my brothers farm specifically for pet lizard shelter. my lizard population is now 1 so i wondered about their use as planters , bonasi slabs, raft etc
when i was growing up we used bigger versions as feed troughs for pigs and calves, salt licked etc and blocked the ends up with whatever was at hand.
i made a planter by screwing some hardwood decking on the ends - stops it rolling over too ... the log expands and shrinks with moisture and ripped the screw out in a few places

its all a bit rough but i wondered if some natives may look OK in these ??? any ideas about the ends?
