They are called Scleranthus. They have roots and can be bought in nurseries. Don't leave them dry, they easily turns brown.

This Semi-Cascade Shimpaku is one of the highlight trees in the garden this year.

that shimpaku is solid . A few years to fill out more and you got something special . I had one semi cascade with almost a 4 inch base years ago . Sold it to Vietnamese guy in Sydney the offer was just too good to pass up. Nice bases on some of those pines

Thanks Matt :) Love that Shimpaku so much and many wanted to buy it but i'm keeping it for a long time.

No weeder for me you lucky guy. Some nice trees there defiantly . Looking forward to when some of your large conifers make it to bonsai pots . Its been nice to get out and about the trees now that autumn has fully kicked in here and the summer heat and dry has said goodbye for awhile .....

Thanks Matt. Yeah I do like those big pines and they are getting heavier and heavier now :palm: I sold most of my mid size trees few years back to get these big once.
