Bonsai pot chop....Japanese or Chinese?

Post by Hal »

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone come across this stamp? I suspect it's a Chinese made but the high quality has clouded my judgement.

Cheers,
Hal.

Hi Mal

Looks like a Chinese penjing tray, I have a similar one with that pattern around the outside.

Hard to say but looking at the quality of the pattern on the side I would bet Chinese

Japanese. It is a Tokoname chop.
Rotate it 90deg clockwise, and it becomes Suishoen. ;)
