Hi All,

I've been looking for some of below shade loving plants, but haven't had any luck so far, does anyone know where to find some of these?

japanese forest grass
hostas
astilbe (dwarf chinese astilbe)

craigw60 may be able to help he runs a small nursary up in olinda and has many unusual plants. his garden is killer also. only problem he is in victoria.

Thanks Matthew,

japanese forest grass looks to be somewhat a rare plant to get in australia, so I guess it's not for me then. will just replace it with other bright yellow ground cover like Sedum rupestre.

You should easily be able to get hold of Acorus grameneus and Ophiopogon (Mondo Grass).

Hostas are widely available too. Ask your local nursery to get some in for you if they don't have any. They should sell them this time of year.

craig is a great suggestion, he stocks a lot of those kinds of plants, you may be able to find a link to his website somewhere.
If you are not killing plants, then you are not extending yourself as a gardener..
