Today, at ballarat bonsai exhibition, there was an accent plant, a type of grass, that was in tight corkscrew curls, quite small... does anybody know the name of this? If they went to the exhibition? and can remember the plant?

I cant remember the name, but look at plants plus. I know it.... its pretty common.....

I've never seen it before, but we don't have much in the way of nurseries here

Didn't go the the expo but it could be Juncus effisus spiralis 'Corkscrew rush' maybe...

I have that in the garden, this appeared to be a tighter curl, with smaller? shorter? foliage? was quite petite. the thought does occur to me that it could have been a juvenile form of the plant???

I have been advised by an accent plant fanatic that it is a CORKSCREW FERN, comes in one size and growth would depend on conditions.

I had it for a short while but discovered it was not happy in my backyard and then it developed all these seed pods and it went OUT. I am rabid about keeping rapidly expanding plants out of my garden and I did not want an invasion of corkscrews, cute tho they are.
