Beautiful. Restrained and simple plantings in lovely little pots.

Thanks Sonya, Keels and Mark. I'm lucky that I have a large female cycad that keeps producing pups. The hare's foot fern has been loving this half a metre of rain with associated humidity in the last week!

These are lovely, well done. I wish I had the time/space/talent for this sort of thing!

Matt.

Thanks Matt, It gives me something to play with that allows a fairly quick result....whilst I wait for my other plants to grow/thicken/etc. lol

Hey MelB,

I was drawn back to this thread when I saw this article https://bonsaitonight.com/2019/04/26/le ... the-bayou/ I thought you might like it if you haven't seen it before.

Cheers,

Mark

Awesome Mel! Can I ask what medium you use to grow your bloodgrass? If you have any other tips for keeping it looking good, I'd be happy to hear them.

Hi Terry, I believe blood grass is meant to be an aquatic plant, or at least the nursery near me sells it as that. When I saw that, I decided to plant it into coir mixed with a bit of potting mix, and also try to keep it moist by using pots that don't have drainage holes, or sitting in water. Also, I don't tend to keep them in full sun, more dappled sunlight, cos Summer here is brutal.

That one I've shown is kept in the shade house on the Eastern side of the house, so only gets a couple of hours of good light every day.

Edit: I suspect if it got more light it wouldn't grow so tall...that's something I'll look into eventually. :)

Thanks Terry and Gavin, I'm enjoying growing something that can look pretty nice in a short time frame. :)
