Japanese style garden with pond, shishiodoshi and bridge

This Japanese garden at our high school in Newcastle has been remodeled recently. The first garden was built in the 70's and had deteriorated beyond repair. Whilst the bones of the old pond were there the new pond has been raised 100mm by the addition of the row of basalt rocks. A new bridge was built and a waterfall and shishiodoshi installed. We were fortunate enough to have 3 Koi donated by a parent who was very impressed with the new design. The original concept of the Japanese style garden came about because of our connection with Ube High School in the Yamaguchi district, Honshu, Japan. We do biannual cultural visits with Ube who return the favour every other year. Hope you enjoy the pictures. I will try to add a movie as well.
