G'day,

I found this stone while walking along the Turon River in the central western districts of NSW and showed it to George Reissis from Suiseki Australia. He asked if he could borrow it to show the club. At the meeting no one guessed where it came from and most thought it had been imported (at a high cost) from China.
Earlier this week he returned it to me along with an awesome daiza that he hand crafted from Paulownia wood. The daiza really is a work of art in itself. it not only fits snugly it also locks firmly into place!

If anyone is interested in stones or making a daiza you should check out Suiseki Australia's website.

this Rock and Daiza is even more awesome in person than the pictures.

Top stuff to Steven and George.

Sorry for digging, but that is a nice find! Especially for it to be a piece of float (loose rock).

I was going to ask how you cut the base flat, but your daiza pictures explain that one ;)

Once again, nice find you lucky bugger.

Cheers,
Rob

Simply an amazing stone Steven! All I can say is that the many passers-by over the last 200yrs weren't suiseki converts!
