I'll never forget finding this natural petrified wood pestle (approx 200mm) in an old quarry a few years ago. The rusty colouration is iron--staining. I'll carefully grind off some of this before presenting with a carved timber mortar. Stone under is the ironstone from previous posts rehashed as a base.
