AusBonsai Winter Wiki Writers Competition
We are pleased to announce a competition that you can enter from the warmth of your home over the next few months while our trees aren't growing so much. The Winter Wiki Writers competition is intended to generate additional content in the WIKI that KCPoole has already put a lot of effort into creating. Thanks Ken!!
We have the following lovely Shohin and Mame/Kusamono pots to give away as prizes which have been generously donated by Penny Davis of Mudlark Pottery. Thanks Penny!
The competition will open on 1st July 2014 and the closing date will be 31st October 2014. The competition is open to anyone, including our overseas members.
Categories are as follows:
CATEGORY 1 - Best and most comprehensive article.
Create a new article not already covered in the wiki about anything relating to bonsai or the associated arts.
CATEGORY 2 - Most prolific and accurate contributions or edits.
The member who creates the most relevant edits, additions, links or pictures to existing articles, or pages that add value to the Wiki.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter the competition, simply post a reply in this thread stating the category you wish to enter and the Title of the page you wish to create or edit. The first member to reserve a topic will be the only member able to write about that subject.
REQUIREMENTS
• It is encouraged to use threads from AusBonsai to create Wiki articles. When doing so ensure you include a link to the original thread and give credit to the original contributors.
• Articles must be accurate and contain relevant information. [Relevancy is judged by the Moderation team of AusBonsai]
• Images posted must either be your own, you must have permission in writing to post them or they must have already been posted on AusBonsai. Images should be no bigger than 1024 x 768 pixels.
• When quoting times of the year to perform work, use seasons not months so the timing is more relevant to different time zones.
PRIZES
• Each category winner will receive a Mudlark Pottery Shohin Pot and a Mame/Kusamono pot.
• Second place in each category will receive 2 Mudlark Pottery Mame/Kusamono pots.
REVIEW AND JUDGING
• Submissions will be reviewed by the Moderators of AusBonsai for compliance with the requirements.
• Judging for Category 1 will be done by the members of AusBonsai. Judging will be opened soon after the competition closes and will take place over the following week by way of survey.
• Judging for Category 2 will be done via the AusBonsai Moderation team by counting the relevant edits associated to individual members.
TIME-FRAME
• Entries can be made at any time between 1st July 2014 and 31st October 2014.
• Articles or editing must be completed and submitted prior to midnight 31st October 2014.
• Judging will take in early November and will remain open for 1 week.
THE FINE PRINT
• Contest is void where prohibited by law.
• All work must be completed by the submitting artist.
