time for some workshopping!!!! the contest year has begun!!!! lets see some trees getting made people!
choices to make, stock to buy, sketchs and plans to decide, and progressions to be shown!!!
keen as. you will see mine a little later, gotta go pick another tree for entry number 2, but its my kids birthday and my mums, so gotta do it later!!!

Can we purchase stock to enter the comp at any time?
I know the Guidelines said that new stock should be purchased before the start date but I live out in the sticks (7 ks to mail box, 100k to nearest town, 3 hrs drive to a range of nurserys) and won't be able to look for stock for a few weeks.
I have a couple for the aged stock section but the new stock I've yet to find,

Entries are being taken from Today until the end of this Month so still plenty of time.

i think this competition one of the best ideas of ausbonsai and its members to date, and will surely be a fantastic learning experience for all.

Here's a magnificent pine which was originally styled by Dan Barton I think. In view of the black backdrop, I've found it easy to see other trees within it. No re-shaping at all, just by elimination.
