Hi all. This is a melaleuca stypheliodes purchased from plants plus at pennant hills for $3.75. It stood about 400mm out of the pot when bought. I chose it for its movement at the base and prolific side branching.
The plant has since been cut back to about 200mm and potted in akadama. The roots where reduced by about 50% and it has been in filtered light for the last 4 weeks.
I will now move this tree to a sunny spot.

Just doing my updates before I forget. Not a lot to report. A lot going on in the soil I’m hoping. I’m showing restraint by not working on them until they are nice and healthy.

My face when I read your last post.
My face when I re-read it and think I understood it
and I did laugh enough for the dog (Hadley) to raise his head in surprise that I as laughing to myself (.... not at your loss but at your description)
Bummer if this tree really has shari'd the bed but we live and learn.

Tending bonsai teaches me patience.
