Seedling was a gift from Pup, Section to be air layered is about 8mm

Roots on the second air layer were very poor, it was cut down and secured into a pot but I am not confident it will make it.

No chance of leaving it on a bit longer before removing??
The other layer looks like it has more than enough to get kick started, but I guess it can be surprising how few roots a tree can sustain itself on, good luck with it!

I could have left it longer but I am not so keen on propagating these days and keen to start styling the parent tree. It will live or die.
