[Natural] Leptospermum 'Lipstick' - alec

Post by alec »

My second entry to the comp, its Leptospermum Lipstick. It is a garden variety cultivar, but i think the outrageous flower colour could be quite striking on a bonsai. I've seen one growing in a garden and it looked pretty cool and bonsai'ish. So here we go.
Paid $10 for it from a local nursery.
Wish me luck,

Alec

April update for the Lepto-Lipstick. Over summer it put on a lot of new growth, it was looking awesome. Then I decided to trunk chop and wire a new leader over a month ago and since then its certainly been lacking in vigour. It has put out some new growth since then so I'm not too worried about it dying.
I think it would have been better to chop it earlier and lightly trim more regularly. I admittedly don't have much experience with leptos :reading:
I will persevere and aim to create something with a bit of flow and interest.
