Received the pots yesterday, and very happy with them

The green glazed with the ripples is really nice


However, this one is my fav for the moment, love the colour and think it'll work perfectly with one of my natives:

Another firing last weekend - I've just been too busy to photograph and put them up on the website for sale

In the meantime here's a sneak peak.





I'm thinking of keeping the last one - the photos don't do the glaze justice, its a rich dark green which turns to blue in the ridge valleys, around 24cm I think.

I got your order, I'm overseas at the moment but will arrange to get them sent to you without too much delay.

Marg is busy making more pots at the moment, she had some ready to put up on the site but I showed them to a couple of people and they got snapped up before I could list them! Give it a couple of weeks then I'll be back in Australia and she should have some ready

Hi Marg .....good stuff. I particularly like the pot you posted on the 23 Jan...it's not as glossy as the latest pot.
I hope you wont mind if I make a couple of suggestions. I don't think bright green is an easy colour for bonsai people...I've tried it in the past and I've been told that it can clash with the foliage of some trees. I've have been asked for pots in a low-sheen cream glaze but have never been able to manage it. Might be worth a try if you have a glaze like that.
Also, if you can continue the glaze into the pot by a centimetre or two the look is improved as, unless the pot is filled to overflowing with potting mix, there appears a circle of unglazed clay between glaze and compost.

Thanks for the feedback, I showed her your comments - she said it was much appreciated, makes perfect sense. She's soaking up as much as she can get at the moment. I'll have to get my mum(Marg) to sign up to the forum so she can interact in person!

Funnily enough - she said the glaze you preferred on the previous post is actually the same glaze just from a different area of the kiln. I too have been requesting an off-white/cream glaze so hopefully soon. The matt tan glaze she does has been popular but has proven to be problematic in that it tends to crack the pots during firing - something to do with that particular glaze and only glazing one side of the pots we think? So she's hesitant to use it now.

We're looking to set-up a gas fired kiln very soon(currently she only has the small electric) which should free her up to do some larger pots and play around with reduction firing to get some better textured raw clay oxide finishes more suited to natives. She has a lot of interesting glazes she developed years ago using gas reduction so I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do there!

As for the blue/green glaze above, personally I think it would work for a pink or red flowering tree like a prunus or even a leptospermum? I have a lepto 'mesmerise' which I think I will try in one of these pots!
