Hi all,
Pat told me to reduce the size of my pics. I was making the long side 1200. His advice was to reduce it to 700. I have done that with the following pic to see how it goes.
Let me know if it loads up real fast like Pat reckons it will.
Cheers,
Leigh.

Oh, and by the way.....
What do you think of the black background? Pat says that a pale blue (or similar) colour would be best. I dont mind the black, but I havent tried anything else.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Leigh.

The photo loads really quickly on my connection. By the way, the pixel dimensions of your pics are only one aspect of how long they take to load. Adjusting the quality of the JPEG before saving it can allow you to upload large images with small file sizes. As an example, I've copied your image and enlarged it to 1000 x 750 pixels without any real change in the file size (or picture quality). Of course, a plain, even background (like yours) will always help significantly reduce the file size. [EDIT] I've added a second photo which is even clearer, with no real change in the file size. [/EDIT]
Thanks.
Fly.
PS: Yet another nice pot, Pat!

G,day Leigh I like this very much being in the senior cits group I find waiting around for pics to load a bit frustrating.
If an old fart and a young bloke like your self can do this. It does help. By the way love the pics of the pots just got find time to look.
With one month to go and a show to organise.I had better get off the bloody PC. Pup

Re: Pat reckons my pics are too big - here is a small one.....
i have my screen resolution set to 1920 x 1200 and have a pretty quick connection so image size is no dramas for me
Normally rule of thumb for web is to set stuff to or below the lowest setting (which is 800 x 600) so everyone can enjoy the pics even if they have a dial up connection with an old computer.
personally i prefer the black background for images but pats pots always look good in any light
