Post by Leigh Taafe »

Pat Kennedy Pots are now posted on my website.

Sorry for the delay for those who have been waiting.

The site doesnt have a postage calculator, so you will have to email me.

Thanks for posting them Leigh.
Honestly though, i think they are a bit to ornate for my likings. I think the tree should do the talking, not the pot. The whole crackle thing is bit spent i think. The prices look fair but add on for postage and......well maybe it could be the killer for a sale. JMO but thanks heaps for posting them.

I disagree. Whilst being ornate in shape, their natural colours would work well with natives and exotics alike, whilst not being too striking. JMO.

I love the effect on the last pot, very interesting.

Great as always Pat!

I had one of Pat's pots in my hand the other day that was just like that last pot in the thumbnails. While the owner was trying to take it out of my hands I was trying to pull it apart with my eyes.
Please consider that one sold Leigh. Ill pay an extra 5 if Pat tells me how to copy it  Hey I am heading up to Canberra Thursday Friday as well. I am visiting the collection on Friday so I might have to scrap up some money and make a trip over to your place and pick it up if that is ok. I am looking forward to having a look at that big carpinus too. Surely it must be on the bargain table by now :P :)

Agreed but I dont think that these post will show up a bonsai. Unless its a just a stick in a pot your talking about.

No way man. The crackle is only just getting started. But I don't know why you said that here cause I only counted 2 out of 19 that would be classed as crackle. JMO

Any tree in the wrong pot whether it be a cheap Chinese or Top price tokanoma pot. Will always fail, I have 6 trees in PK pots all work.

From Shito though to Chumono, most are Australian natives which work well with the crackle pot. As do the more ordinary glazed ones.
JMHO :D Pup
As I said Leigh I have to stop spending till we get back 29 days to go :D

Here are the two I ended up getting yesterday.
Thanks Pat and Leigh.

I got the second pot because I love that finish Pat has done and I want to copy it.
Anyone have ideas on what to put in it?
I may use that first pot for my Seiju elm but will see what peter Adams thinks at the workshop.

If you would like some help with the technique give me a buzz but it's best if you experiment first 8-)

Hey Bretts,

I met Pat and bought one of his pots when he was down earlier this year at the YVBS exhibition, great guy, great pots!
He mentioned at the time that he was having "I.T. issues", so i don't know if that got resolved?

I noticed this thread ...

viewtopic.php?f=45&t=7780 :o

but I did find this ...

https://cbs.org.au/wiki/index.php?title= ... ai_Pottery :lost:

so maybe his phone still works? anyway looks like a possible detour if you were heading to Canberra   closer to you than me

But, GREAT POTS if you can track him down! Good luck :fc:

Ryan

I used the contact detials Mela gave in her pot thread
This is his email
patspots@bigpond.com

We where looking at sidetracking to Pat's place on the way back from Canberra but then he realised he could not do it this weekend so might organise by mial after trip to Canberra. I have managed to shuffle a couple of trees between pots so might get through if I can't find what I need :?
Thanks for the help though :tu:
