Homemade pots
MattA was super nice enough to give my gf some clay to work with.
Needless to say she was promptly stood over for said clay and this was the result:
Littlest one is about the size of a 20c piece:

Re: Homemade pots
Nice work Velvet , maybe a new art-form for you
“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be like water, my friend.”

Thank you penny. Picked up a few books on glazes and oxides, although they are 20 + years old, going to have a read thru them then of to the community art centre to fire some of pots.mudlarkpottery wrote:Good work! I particularily like that last free-form pot. looking forward to the finished pots.

Re: Homemade pots
Thank you for the kind words Ian, the last one is a little proto-type of a large one i eventually intend on making with 4-5 tiers.

Re: Homemade pots
Pity you bought books elsewhere. I have some for sale. The information in the older books is just as relevant today as is was twenty years ago - probably better as the newer ones don't go into as much basic detail. I also have some "Ceramic Review" and "Ceramics Monthly" magazines for sale as I need to make room for other things.

Re: Homemade pots
Ah well, good luck with the sale. I'll have to make a trip down one day with the Gf to have a look at what pots you have for sale.
