gum (stick in a pot)

Post by Sammy D »

This gum was collected from the vineyard. I had been slashing it for a couple of years till one day feeling sorry for it I decided to pull it up. Its been a couple of years now since I pulled it up so thought I would give it a trim. So here it is. Hard to see in the photo but it is almost like a raft style. Long way to go but time will tell if it was worth collecting

An interesting start of a tree. I think should be more trees around like this in training. Keep us updated on it's progression. 8-)
Patience is often a surprise.

Very interesting, thanks for posting. It looks like you bare-rooted it - what season was that? Any idea what species of Euc? It's starting already to look like something you'd see along a river bank.

Yeah gavin very late repot. Should be ok though. Didnt have much choice as the soil it was in had become non wetting so even on a mild day it was drying out and impossible to wet the soil properly. Now should be good. No idea on eucalyptus trees. Think there is sugar gum and red gum in the area though?

Thanks for the up-date. Looking better and better each time we are allowed to see it. It is still a very interesting design which I like. Would you be able to give us a size comparison next post please?

Thanks guys. Would love to do more natives as the amount of growth is huge. More than any other shrub tree i own. It has had 4 cutbacks this season. and some were well due. Ill be hunting for more native sticks in the future me thinks.
