So out of the creek mentioned in Yamadori Casuarina, we found a literal grove of seedlings, thousands of them growing in the sandy embankment.
I removed a few, at the time they were pencil thin, that was about 3-04 years ago
here are three of them, recalling also they went through the "great drought of sprinkler failure" back in Feb of this year, they all died back to stumps but thankfully came back.
It would be interesting now to go back and see how many have survived the ravages of the flood plain creek bed.

and number four comes from out west, just a stick in a pot as yet and possibly a tortulosa if I hazard a guess, where the others were growing in water this was growing in the desert. Has struggled for a while and I repotted it three months ago and new shoots are appearing over it now, wish me luck, long term project

This species is certainly very attractive. Would you say they are an easy tree I get to know?

Elmar, yes I would say they are relatively easy.
They have been hardy, having survived being dried out in the pot, require re-pot, I would suggest late winter, and occasional pruning. These are years away from what I see in my head with them but I do like them a lot.

A little update on these, at least number one and two, the little straight one went in the ground grown area and is also booming but hard to photograph so won't be updated until I lift it, maybe 2 yrs.
again anyhooo....to the trees.
