Cheers i haven't found to many examples or much information of these being used as bonsai online so its been guess work. It is crazy how much growth these can put on in a year. Fingers crossed it survives the hacking i just gave it.

Looking like a great start beanwagon. Nice shape to the trunk. I too have seen many examples around. seems strange when they are such easy and hardy material.

Your Lilly Pilly looks like an Syzygium austral cultivar. I have a few varieties of Lilly Pilly's and find these the easiest to develop. I treat them similar to an Elm or maple. That is, wire the new shoots for direction once they have thickened a little, then let them grow long, removing wire when it starts to bite, and cut back hard for taper and movement.
