Hawaiian Casuarina!

Post by melbrackstone »

I'm working in Hawaii this week, and man oh man, the trees here are amazing!

In Qld we're always saying "plant it and stand back," because things grow so fast, but here, right on the coast, there are massive casuarina trees! I estimate 20m, but may be a little wrong, however they are huge!

Awesome!
P.S. do you need an assistant?

I don't trust Bonsai, they are a little shady.

Gazing at casuarina trees, hanging out at Hawaii :palm: ... jealous. You're a lucky man.

Say hi to Magnum and Higgins if you bump into them. ;)

Yeah, I was amazed at how thick their trunks can get when I recently visited WA. They apparently love the conditions in Hawaii. But then again, apart from the polar caps I don't think there is any environment they wont grow in.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.

LOL, thanks Jarad, assistants do come in handy with my job, but I can't really afford to pay for them. :)

Cheers Rory, I'm an old woman, but hey, who's counting. :)

And yes, it seems like everything grows like topsy here! Haven't had time to look for a bonsai nursery yet though....
