Melaleuca trunk chop

Post by Jhalkhoree »

Good Evening,

I have a question for the natives experts. I have a Melaleuca Nesophilia which is fairly leggy. It is about 40cm tall and no branches lower down. Question is, if I chop it down to roughly 15-20cm, will it shoot back?

Cheers

Hello. I was wondering the same thing and experimented on one. It is budding back well, so i say yes. Usually better if it hasn't been repotted recently.

Some Mels bud easily on old wood, others do not. I have not tried M. nesophila so can't offer any better advice than AG.
