Your council is too quick, mine has responded (via FB), but I've not heard from the tree guys yet - the tree is still there. If only I had a chainsaw!

Probably because the tree ripped up the footpath and would have provided a elevated risk to public. If some idiot climbed on it or tripped the council would be liable so the hurried to fix it
