Yep I agree mate. That tree looks like it just stepped in from the wild. Inspirational.
It’s trees like these and those in the Australia Day poll that really show what’s possible with Aussie natives.
Not just in the species that can be used but also what’s possible with Aussie styling. :aussie:
Wonderful collection Gerard.

Once you're over 50 the laws of nomenclature say that you can call it whatever the hell you want. :)

Another vote for the Melaleuca Ericafolia 2, and the light and photography really highlight the bark beautifully. Awesome collection.

Hi Gerard,
Thanks for posting your natives. We have so much material in Australia that we can make nice bonsai from.

I like the pot shown in this photo. Can you remember who made it and if it is possible to still purchase one of these. I have a Literati that I think this pot would work well with. Thanks for any help you can give concerning the pot.

Hi Pearcy,

It's a Lorraine Simpson Pot, unfortunately she's retired and doesn't make anymore pots!

But some of us still got some! ;)

Cheers,

This is an inspiring collection, Gerard, thanks so much for sharing!

Regarding the pot, I know Marie makes one very similar in shape and form, so if you're after one RayM, might be worthwhile nipping down to see Marie and her pots at Bonsai Week. I understand she's going to be there.

JR-J is correct, Lorraine (retired) made this pot about 40cm diameter.

A: Because we are not all there.
