Indigofera 1

Post by Rory »

Indigofera (maybe australis) 1

I love indigo. It was purchased from the native council nursery (before it closed) at Terrey Hills.

Now this isn't much to look at as its just the start of a progression thread at the moment. (give it another 5 years).
I've noticed it grows well in my area (1 hr north of Sydney and winters don't drop below about 4 or 5 degrees normally).

I had plans of growing it as a twin trunk but after giving it its first repot, that decision was changed. (horrible bulge above the roots)
I've not attempted this genus before so this is a work in progress. The floral display is amazing which is why I'm pursuing this.
It has thickened better than I had hoped. It was originally cut back before the repot and shot everywhere, but time will tell whether it still shoots back as it ages.

I style Bonsai naturally, just as they would appear in the wild.
