Hi Peter did your your tree dry out between waters a little bit longer than most (as in until you got to it the next time for its watering) before you re potted again.

Hi Peterborough.

The Brachychiton rupestris needs to be watered & fertilized heavily during summer , can sit in a water tray In winter once a week is enough.
One of the issues with repotting is that a lot of the fine roots fall away with the soil when repotting.
Also when repotting its good to have 30 to 50 mm of soil below the roots when repotting.
So lightly trim the fine roots and cut back anything bigger than your small finger and seal.
As long as your watering heavily it might take 3 to 6 weeks to respond with new shoots.
Once the new shoots reach 20mm pinch the tips to start ramification.

Best of luck

Milo
