Hi Everyone

Native Bonsai Acquisition Prize 2019

Mel Brackstone has generously sponsored the $5000 Native Bonsai Acquisition Prize 2019 to commemorate her mother Lorna McNaughton. After Lorna's passing in May 2015, Mel was inspired to get back into the art of bonsai, specifically working with Australian native plants. The Native Bonsai Acquisition prize is to encourage and highlight the beauty of Australia native bonsai and to celebrate Lorna's passion for gardening and her love of plants.

•Send the completed entry form and images of your bonsai to: arboretum@act.gov.au

Cheers Anthony, I felt it was a good way to help get some more interest in Native plants as bonsai. It's been in the works since late 2016, so glad to see this come to fruition. Very excited!

Great prize and cause.
Good luck to those that have a tree worthy of entry.
No doubt this will snare a beauty.
One of the fabulous things about growing bonsai is as you get old and decrepit your trees get old and beautiful
