Banksia fusion?

Post by NickityNic »

Hey, ive propogated a bunch of little bansia serratas from seed and im growing some in their own, and some in a tight clump to see if they fill eventually fuse at the base. Has anyone does this? Can you fuse banksia to form twin trunk/clump style bonsai?
The experiment us underway so ill post my results regardless but thought ide ask if anyone has done this before or has any advice.
Cheers

Hi, I would assume that they would fuse quite well and the bases naturally flair anyhow.

Alternatively They may just grow into each other but that would be OK as they would bind with each other I have seen a twin trunk that was very old but I think it was two trees that had grown side by side for a long time and eventually grew into each other.
So a good experiment. Let us know how it goes please.
