Hey Ryan,
The web page below may help you to make an informed decision as to what to purchase. I found it very informative and I learned a lot. There is a slide show at the end with images also.

Re: Rotary tool (for carving)
Wow, thank you ALL so much for your informed responses! ... I've got a lot to consider here so it appears my final decision will come down to; usability/intended use, price and quality.
Dumper, nice to see what's at the professional end of the market, I now realize my mate's dad had one of these for carving gemstones. definitely something to aim for if (when) I get more serious (or possibly some one's second-hand model)
Paul, yeah not diving into anything too hardcore (yet ) first candidate is a trident maple ... interesting consideration of wood densities and related motor stress. I presume Tridents are in the medium density range?
Tony, sounds like you've got the whole range The right tools for every job thanks for your expert advise
Thanks again everyone, time to count my ... Cheers, Ryan

$190 vs $520 locally for the same product?

I guess it is the same for most grey market items - as long as you are willing to take the risk of no warranty claims.

Re: Rotary tool (for carving)
I just received my "Little Terrier" from Kaizen. I got the one that fits on a Dremmel. Took exactly 24 days from order to my house. Will report on how it goes...
