Crepe Myrtle Cut Healing

Post by Chris H »

I have a large crepe myrtle which has some major cuts on it.

Can anyone advise as to whether I should seal the cut and have the bark seal over it. Or will the bark not grow over the cut and therefor I should carve it and make it deadwood.

Thanks for advice in advance.

They heal very well but it might leave a bulge.

Thanks.

I'll adjust the carving to allow for bulge.
