Post by Akhi »

I am juniper for the first time and experiencing die back on tips of the branches.
I lost a few branches to it but can't lose anymore

The branches with the dieback also have a different green colour not as vibrant as the good parts.

Any advice appreciated

I'm guessing you have not had many replies yet because this sort of problem can be hard to diagnose without lots more information and even then there could be several different possible causes.
Here's another thread dealing with a similar problem in other junipers viewtopic.php?f=131&t=23865&p=239964&hi ... er#p239964 You will see that even with lots more background info there are several possible causes and treatments offered.
Here's another thread that talks about lack of light being a possible cause for tip dieback viewtopic.php?f=19&t=22676&p=228615&hil ... wn#p228615

And another one discussing mites as a possible cause for brown tips on junipers viewtopic.php?f=19&t=20472&hilit=juniper+tips+brown. Unfortunately the pictures in that thread were linked to another site and are no longer available so you probably won't be able to compare with yours.

I've picked these threads up by using the search button(top left). You can probably do some searching yourself and find plenty more.

One thing worth doing in any case, is to trim off all affected parts and spray a few times with Mancozeb. Treat any tools with Metho or heat.
