Ryan Neal - BSOP Series: Spring fundamentals

Post by Jiro »

Hi all,

Just thought I'd share this lecture by Ryan Neal in which he covers some fundamentals of maintenance and pruning that are in the kind of detail it can be hard to find. He couples this with some fantastic information regarding plant physiology and techniques to ensure your bonsai are in optimal health.

There is such a rich level of information for people at all levels of bonsai, you can really turbo charge your knowledge and gain years of experience in a few short hours. I found it immensely rewarding even when covering topics I thought I already understood.

I am looking forward to Ryan's presentation in Melbourne next year in May at the AABC Convention. I am sure he will have much to offer about growing bonsai and techniques we can apply to Australian trees.

Hmmm, I hadn't yet caught wind of that.

Potentially going down to Melbourne in June next year but perhaps I can talk my wife into a rejig... although it's dependent on a few friends we will be travelling with.

Is he only going to Melbourne?

My assumption is that most people have seen any video that I post but put them up anyway in the hope that anyone who may not have seen it finds their way to it... hopefully that doesn't annoy anyone?

And well, this is hands down one of the best bonsai tutorials I have seen for free online. Absolutely vital viewing no matter how long you have been on the bonsai train :imo: I've watched and re-watched it about half a dozen times.
