Japanese maple

Hello everyone. can anyone help me please give me advice if i did the right thing on my tree. thanks

Hi! I think it's a trident maple, not a Japanese maple. Hard to tell from just front view of the tree but I think it looks pretty good. Thinned out nicely but not too much. I don't think you need to wire branches down so much when it's a broom style tree you've chosen, most broom or flame shaped trees that naturally occur have branches that direct upward rather than sag downward. But I think it looks good, I'd love to have that in my collection.

Ok 2nd look, the right side trunk split results in 3 upward branches, two on the right, one on the left. I would get rid on one of the two on the right.

I'm a newbie, but I would be removing the two vertical branches and all those that appear to be coming out from inside of the left curve line of the main trunk. From the photos, there appears to be too much growing out of that one spot.

Most Def a Trident Maple, Not Japanese

Remove unnecessary branches and ensure you have 2 shoots from each node, Trunk and brunch, 2 branches etc.
Note I took out the upward straight ones from t he big bunch on the right.

Cut back each branch to the first or second node to develop ramification ( shorten each branch back)

Remove any branches thgat are straight.

Removed the ones on the inside of the bend as they are at the same node as the right. ( an on the inside )
I would also look at wire on the main upper trunk, it is too straight. Put a slight bend in it to be in sympathy with the lower section.
