I went there this morning and he told me that he would not have japanese apricot this year. he only have 3 display this morning when i went there but i cant afford it.

Sir Bon, i did not take pictures. but the small one that he had cost around $300 something and the big one almost $1400 45yrs old he said.

Is it a good time for taking cuttings?

Now is not the time to take cuttings. Take cuttings when Spring growth hardens off. Strip all the leaves but the top two then cut those in half. Fill a foam fruit box with a 1/3rd of soil, put them in, cover with cling wrap and put in a bright place but not in direct light as they will cook. Once leaves start to budd remove some of the cling wrap to allow air in. When leaves are open and showing growth remove cling wrap. Leave for at least a season. Check following winter when bare to pot up.

They're pretty small plants, probably one year cuttings, but they've grown very well in the year I've had them. The bigger the pot, the faster they've grown.

I shall take some shots tomorrow, but this is one I took in April. I put three of the small plants into a large pot, sort of wound together to get a thicker base...at a guess it's around 450mm across the top. This is a shot of them taken straight ahead....they reach to the top of the 6ft steel fence. The other two are in smaller 250mm pots, and are only about 1m tall, if that....

Might be the pic but they don't look like mume to me, leaf shape looks wrong
