Which fertiliser from Bunnings?

Hey,

Can someone point me in the right direction with respect to which liquid Fert I should purchase for my trees for this time of year - heading into summer.

I have;

- small Fig the has been recently chopped
- Small bougainvillea
- Recently purchased Jasmin Orange - Aim is to thicken the foliage and make it more dense.
- Tiger Bark Fig
- Chinese Elm

I would really like to promote some good growth this year and take full advantage of this coming summer.

I usually buy whatever general fertiliser is on special.
Aquasol, powerfeed, charlie carp are some examples they stock.

Many people have their favorite fertilisers but I don't think it matters which brand. As long as you choose a complete fertiliser (has all the nutrients and trace elements) it does not really matter where it comes from or what form it is in. Plants cannot read and don't care about the pictures on the packet. All they are interested in is the nutrients that are available and all complete fertilisers have all nutrients.
I actually prefer to use a few different types on the grounds that if one is low in something, the next will probably make up for it. I use liquid fert (thrive, powerfeed, fish emulsion, etc) for quick acting release, some slow release (chook poo pellets; seamungus, etc) for more sustained nutrient supply and controlled release (osmocote) for constant background nutrient supply.
Don't try to overthink it, just get something and start using it at the rates suggested on the pack.

Note: Seasol is not really a fertiliser. It does have some nutrients but each batch has different levels so may not supply all nutrients needed in the required ratios. Use it but only as part of a balanced fert program.

Thanks for the advice guys... Ill head out there today and see what I can find.

For some reason the ferrier game confuses me a little. I had seen examples of people saying to get something like 10 10 10 or 7 7 7; however, as you have all provided examples of brands and so forth Ill have some success.

Some people confuse the term 'balanced' with equal numbers in NPK. In reference to fertilisers, 'Balanced' means it has the right amount of all nutrients and the right amounts is not actually equal quantities.
There is further confusion because the Yanks have a different system for measuring the ratios so the numbers they use do not equate to the same thing here.
Whatever you choose the plants will take what they need and leave the rest to wash away when you water. Just follow the directions for 'trees and shrubs' when diluting.

I use Nitrosol. High in nitrogen and has few other handy ingredients in there to balance it out.
