Leptospermum madidum 1
This is an incredibly hardy species for Bonsai, and a very underrated species. It tolerates a very heavy mix, and a fast drainage mix. It tolerates drought and being overpotted. You can remove a lot of root with no problem at all and leave all the foliage on and it just seems to power on.
The branches weep, and it shoots from any cut-back. Excellent choice for Bonsai.
I can't locate any pics of this when I purchased it, but its about 5 years old now and was purchased from The Big Flower at Ourimbah in an 8 inch pot.
It has been continually allowed to grow long and continually cut back hard every 6 months.
It has been placed into a beautiful Adam Luczak pot (Poland)
If you like this species, Bonsai World at Jilliby, on the NSW Central Coast have a tonne of these with fantastic bases.
