Melaleuca

This is an unknown melaleuca (possibly linariifolia) that I found in the back corner of a nursery a couple of years ago.

I really like the trunk. You need to watch the bar branching on this one and the lepto you posted too. if it were mine I would trim the foliage back a bit more. Very nice tree Thats a great pot who is it made by?

Thanks Kirky, I was going for a broom style, but I see what you mean about the bar branch, I might have to have a rethink about the design .The pot is a Marg Fenn.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve - if you want a more "natural" style then to my eye it is ok. I like that you have wired the branches/trunk in an upright style which I think mimics the way we see mels in nature. Anyway you can leave it there to see if some buds show up where you want them, otherwise to remove one of those first branches would make the tree lopsided

The pot is one that I bought at the national bonsai convention in Hobart last year, I wish that I had bought more when I had the chance
