Melaleuca viridiflora (Burgundy weeper)

Post by melbrackstone »

I bought some tubestock of the Melaleuca viridiflora red flowered variety, but just recently I've seen some with a beautiful maroon flower. I'm guessing it's the Burgundy weeper variety.

If you're looking for Winter colour...might be worth chasing up.

Would these have been a Callistemon now classified as Melaleuca Mel?
As you say, lovely flower colour

I'm not sure, Sonya, there are many Melaleucas that have bottlebrush type flowers, so who knows.... plant classification and reclassification is an ongoing thing, as we all know. :)

Edit: Crikey! http://anpsa.org.au/c-vim.html I had no idea!
