Thanks for the feed back guys.

I will forget about layering it And shorten it next winter. The growth on it is surprising corse.
I guess it's because it has just been collected.

Are you defoliating figs yet ken :?:

Watto what are we digging next year  only joking and thanks again.

How are everyone's collected hawthorn doing ?

Of the 2 large ones I collected one has about 20 leaves and the other about 100 .
But both haven really put out any new growth in 6 weeks
Should I start fertilising yet ?
Also should they be getting full sun ? They are round the side of the house getting about 3 hrs sun .
I'm afraid a hot day in full sun might put them under pressure or worse.

2 of mine have lots of shoots, 2 have none as yet.
I put them onto my semi shade benches lst week as they were starting to get too much sun and with all the hot weather, did not want to stress them too much.

Bougy too some home to QLD to see how they go there. Any news Bougy?

I'm glad someone else has slow responders - I have two in full leaf, one just showing bud colour but no extension, and one just sulking. Seems the larger trees have more surface roots - the smallest one is the problem. I blame Watto. (So what are we digging next year?)
