growing weeping willow??

we have a big weeping willow in our backyard that is very old, how would i start a cutting off this tree and use it for a bonsai?

Pick any size branch you like cut it off with a saw. Plonk this in a bucket of water. In a few weeks it will have roots and should be planted into soil. :D

Hi chris

You'll get everything you need to know if you follow that thread.

You might already know that along the creeks in metro Melb' weeping willows grow wild, so if you don't want to chop your tree you can always try there.

About 3 weeks ago i potted up some large branch cuttings and now that spring is on it's way the cuttings have got all these red hot buds poping. :ugeek:
