Re: Stratification mixture
I also notice a couple of Ficus virens bags.
As far as I know ficus sp should not have stratification. They are sub tropical plants. Cold may kill the seed as well as plants. I also understand that the seeds need light to germinate so seed should be sowed on the surface and not covered. Fresh seed is best. Loses viability if it is stored dry. Fresh is best with most seed but especially tropical species

Re: Stratification mixture
I read that for ficus but I also read that it may not be the case and can be stratified so just went for it. Eep.
Do you think I should remove and sow on surface of soil? If so what soil and by surface do you literally mean just sprinkled on the top or slightly covered. They are small seeds...

Re: Stratification mixture
I did some port jackson fig seeds recently and I used a regular potting mix and literally just sprinkled on top. Most have germinated already. You just have to be careful watering they don't all wash into one spot
