I wasn't as they don't appeal to me. The root growth I got from this layer was far better than I expected to be honest. If I left it in a bigger pot a feel I would have a massive problem with the root mass relative to the size of the tree.

So I have wired this on and started reducing a bit of foliage before things cool down too much. I think next summer this tree is going to improve greatly. Branch positions seem ok I think but some of them need to fill more than others to balance the tree shape. I would love some opinions on the pot and the position of the tree in the pot. It could come more to the left next time I think.
Thoughts?

Nice tree, has good taper.
I agree about coming more to the left
