Do people (members)get an email to notify them if you send a PM to them,I have sent a number of PM's and the member does not answer.

I certainly get an email reminder when a PM is sent.
You can also see if the recipient has read their PM because the message disappears from your 'outbox' when they open the message. If the messages are still in your outbox they obviously have not been read so the member cannot respond. If the messages have been opened and have disappeared from your outbox there is another reason for not responding.

There could be lots of reasons for someone not checking PMs (or responding) - too busy, on holidays 8-) , did not notice a new message, in hospital  , etc. Not everyone is connected 24/7. Some of us need to log on to check email and PMs and some have a life outside bonsai so it can take a few hours/days to respond to messages. Some of us older ones just don't see the need for immediate responses.
Just remember that it is probably not you personally they are ignoring.

Good luck with the enquiries.

Thanks fella's,I thought they did,it was just that some one was selling something and you would think if you wanted to sell it,you would check your messages, but maybe there is a good reason.
Gidday Steven, have not seen you around the traps for awhile, but we are all busy in our own little way. :worship:

What if under board preferences, they have the following selected:
prefs.jpg
If they have these 2 options selected to 'no', then doesn't that mean the only way they would notice the message is if they happen to look at the '1 new message' next to Control Panel.
Obviously having the 2 options selected to 'yes' would be common sense, but for some reason if they have these denoted to 'no', it would make it very difficult to realize when someone is trying to contact them.

.... Sorry, its my technical support days coming back.
