Well said Treeman. :tu: I'm just a newbie too, but from what little I've learnt I sometimes give my :2c: worth with the proviso that I'm also only a beginner but that helps me relate to other beginners. I read the threads almost every day and have learnt a lot just from that. I don't mind if I get criticism or a bit of stirring, it's all meant in good humour. All my plants are still "stick in a pot" but I'm taking the long view also and look forward to all the little improvements I can see happening already.
I also admire members like Shibui :worship: who spend so much time to answer other members' questions.
It's definitely a great forum and I hope it stays the way it is; I'm not a facebook fan either- waaayyy too much advertising :tounge: and other crap for my liking! As for uploading photos, I find it no big deal
Cheers All!

Ouch, EMBARRASSMENT VERY MUCH!!!   I just posted that I agree with Treeman- yes I do , but most of the comments were meant to refer to Pearcy's post. Sorry for mixing the two of you up

bonborn wrote:And just to add onto my comment above I feel Ausbonsai forum should move to facebook platform. Facebook groups are trending nowadays. So much easier to use. Admins have a lot of control in activities. It can be made public, private or even secret. People can be tagged in comments. Things can be posted for sale and deleted once sold.

If it does move to facebook this forum can be archived and future facebook posts be linked back to the threads here. Some thing to think about.
I do not have facebook, and never will due to privacy concerns.
it is also Advertising driven and thus not appropriate for Stevens wish to keep commercial interests from here.

Nothing on Facebook is really private, no matter what they say!

no one should feel the need to refrain from posting trees regardless of their age or merit. I posted lots of garbage trees ( i still do come to think of it). You may get some comments you perceive as negative but they are not always as bad as you think. I think someone once said tone is hard to show in sentence form on a forum.

Anyway. Here is my first tree posted on this forum. Can you believe I entered it in one of the comps. Talk about embarrassing

If you planted it in the ground for a few years I think you would greatly improve this tree .

Some constructive feedback for thought however; I too find it awkward to post photos ( my latest attempt last week probably created enough sore necks to keep a team of Chiro's busy !!!!) A simpler process perhaps ?? Or maybe like most men, didn't read the instructions beforehand. !!!

Interesting that this pops up often as a criticism but I find it really is a no brainer.

On a desktop, I click the button below the text screen, and then drag and drop the image onto the button and press "Add the file" Button
3 Steps only and could not be simpler. :lost:
Yep you need to resize images but you have to do that for FB, Gumtree, Ebay as well. that is a really easy thing to to on PC as well, The image rotation bit is a pain but one a phone, TAKE PHOTOS in LANDSCAPE ONLY will eliminate the issue.

On a phone that process is a pain, but that is only because navigating with your thumb in a small device is not really what theya re designed for.
IMHO A phone and tablet, is a device for Consuming content, not creating it!.

Hey ken.

I was thinking this was the front. I've got to go to work now but when I get home I will take a few more shots from different angles.
